SIREXE 2024: Leading Extractive, Energy Sector Investment

Côte d’Ivoire is expecting to host the 2024 version of the SIREXE (International Resource and Energy Resources Fair) an event aimed at bringing investment to the country’s extractive industry and energy sectors.

Scheduled to be held in Abidjan, Ivory Coast’s SIREXE 2024 is expected to be the cornerstone event where delegates make concrete commitment towards exploitation and development of the country’s huge unexplored reserves especially in the areas of mining, oil and renewable power resources.

As the demands for raw materials continue to rise around the world, especially in the mining and energy sectors, SIREXE 2024 will showcase investment in the country’s traditional and emerging market sectors.

In a statement released by the Ministry of Mines and Energy, the event will include a number of plenary sessions, presentations, debates, and business-colonization platforms for leaders and investors in the mining industry and policy makers.

Hopefully it will attract participants from MNCs, national enterprises, and governmental bodies in order to find the point of collaboration and projects in development of the country’s resources-based economy.

The investments priorities in mining and energy business

SIREXE 2024 will focus on the mineral endowment of Côte d’Ivoire, well endowed in gold, bauxite, iron ore, oil and gas. There have been enhanced policy reforms by the government to enhance the investment friendly environment, recent policy improvements included; the business environment and improving the security of energy supplies.

Energy sector in Côte d’Ivoire is also in a transited period with the intention of expanding the proportion of renewable energy in the country. On its strategic development plan, the country is putting great emphasis on developing energy structures to produce sustainable energy, solar and hydropower in particular.

Another part of the event will be also dedicated to the country’s agenda on energy transformation, such as, for instance, the decarbonization processes and environmentally friendly mining. The government wants to tap in to organisations with knowledge and experience in clean energy and such technologies, to support the change

Economically emerging giant

Being among the most rapidly developing countries of West Africa, Côte d’Ivoire appears to be more and more an interesting investment area for the extractive and energy sectors. As a politically, geographically located and economically stable country, it has proven itself as a regional player in the industrial and infrastructure industry.

SIREXE 2024 serves as an avenue for international investors to explore the untapped markets in fiercely growing economic sub-sectors in Côte d’Ivoire. These results could have the additional effect of reinforcing the country’s position as one of the dominant actors in the African mining and energy sectors
