TotalEnergies Marketing Nigeria Plc has unveiled the TotalEnergies Mobility Card Plus, known as TEMC+, a technology-driven upgrade designed to strengthen payment security, improve transaction visibility and give customers more direct control over mobility-related expenses.
The company introduced the new card at an event in Lagos, describing it as a significant step forward from its existing mobility solutions. TEMC+ combines enhanced digital security with real-time account management tools, allowing both individual users and corporate clients to monitor and manage transactions instantly.
The launch also signals the start of a nationwide transition from the current TotalEnergies cards to the new platform. According to the company, the migration process is already under way and is expected to be completed by the end of December 2025.
Speaking at the event, the managing director of TotalEnergies Marketing Nigeria, Samba Seye, said the new card reflected the companyโs long-standing emphasis on innovation and customer-focused solutions. He noted that changing consumer behaviour and the growing demand for digital efficiency had made it necessary to rethink how mobility payments are managed.
Seye, who was represented by the general manager for retail and cards, Abdullahi Umar, said TEMC+ was developed to respond to the realities of a fast-evolving digital economy. He described the platform as a move beyond a conventional fuel card, positioning it instead as a comprehensive technology solution that simplifies operations and improves the overall customer experience.
A platform built for fleets and real-time control
According to the company, TEMC+ is particularly aimed at fleet operators and businesses that require tighter oversight of spending across multiple vehicles and locations. The card enables real-time tracking of transactions, stronger fraud-prevention features and improved account controls, all designed to reduce administrative burden and limit misuse.
Project manager for TEMC+, Osarobo Aigbogun, said the upgrade was shaped largely by customer feedback gathered over time. Rather than replacing the existing Total Card outright, he said the new platform represents a significant evolution, building on familiar features while adding more advanced digital capabilities.
Aigbogun added that the company had focused on making the system intuitive and scalable, ensuring it could support both small businesses and large corporate fleets as their needs grow. The emphasis, he said, was on creating a flexible solution that adapts to different usage patterns without compromising security.
TotalEnergies said the rollout of TEMC+ forms part of its broader strategy to deepen its presence in Nigeriaโs downstream market through value-added services. As fuel marketers increasingly compete on digital convenience and operational efficiency, the company is betting that smarter payment tools will help strengthen customer loyalty and streamline mobility costs.
The company did not disclose the cost of developing the new platform but said customers would be guided through the migration process ahead of the December deadline to ensure minimal disruption.
