The Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPC Limited, Mr. Bashir Bayo Ojulari, is set to headline a high-level, investor-focused fireside chat at the 9th edition of the Nigeria International Energy Summit, NIES, 2026, reinforcing Nigeria’s determination to strengthen energy security, deepen market reforms, and attract long-term global investment.

The strategic session, titled “Securing Nigeria’s Energy Future,” will take place at the International Conference Centre (ICC), Abuja, as part of the summit themed “Energy for Peace and Prosperity: Securing Our Shared Future.”

Moderated by renowned energy and investment broadcast journalist, Ms. Vimbai Mutinhiri-Ekpenyong, the dialogue will bring together a distinguished audience of chief executives, institutional investors, financial leaders, regulators, and energy service providers from Africa and international markets.

According to James Shindi, Chief Executive of Brevity Anderson, organisers of NIES 2026, the session reflects Nigeria’s ambition to be recognised as a credible, reform-oriented energy market.

“This fireside chat reflects our commitment to positioning Nigeria as a credible, reform-driven energy market where global capital, policy leadership, and commercial performance align,” Shindi said.

Flagship Session on Nigeria’s Evolving Energy Strategy

Positioned as one of the summit’s flagship engagements, the fireside chat is expected to deliver a candid and forward-looking assessment of Nigeria’s energy landscape at a time of global market volatility, rising energy transition expectations, and heightened investor scrutiny around governance, transparency, and capital discipline—particularly within national oil companies.

The discussion will situate Nigeria at the centre of Africa’s energy economy, examining how strategic decisions impact national revenue generation, energy security, and investor confidence.

Participants will gain insights into how NNPC Limited is responding to production disruptions, refining capacity challenges, gas supply constraints, and asset transitions, while driving a commercially focused transformation agenda aligned with global best practices and Nigeria’s long-term development objectives.

Strengthening Investor Confidence Through Direct Engagement

Conference Producer, Kunle Odusola-Steveson, emphasised the importance of creating direct channels between NNPC leadership and global stakeholders.

“Bringing NNPC’s leadership into direct dialogue with international investors and industry leaders is central to advancing confidence, transparency, and long-term partnerships across Africa’s energy value chain,” he said.

The fireside chat will conclude with an interactive question-and-answer session, allowing investors, partners, and industry players to engage directly with NNPC’s top leadership on Nigeria’s energy outlook, reform priorities, and long-term investment opportunities.
