The Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN, has restored electricity supply following a planned outage at the 132/33kV Apo Transmission Substation.
TCN said power was fully restored at 4:08 p.m. on Sunday, September 6, 2026, after engineers completed work required to address a fault affecting the Apo transmission lines.
The outage temporarily affected electricity customers supplied through the substation.
According to TCN, the maintenance work was necessary to address a fault on Apo Lines 1 and 2 between Towers T130 and T132.
The company said its technical team successfully completed the required OPGW latching work on the two 132kV transmission lines.
OPGW, or Optical Ground Wire, is used on transmission infrastructure for both power-line protection and communications. Its proper installation and maintenance are important to the safe and reliable operation of the transmission network.
Following the completion of the work, TCN restored electricity supply through the affected network. The transmission company apologised for the inconvenience caused by the planned outage and thanked affected electricity consumers for their patience and understanding.
TCN said the maintenance forms part of its efforts to improve the reliability and efficiency of Nigeria’s transmission network.
The company added that it would continue carrying out necessary maintenance and network interventions to strengthen electricity transmission and support improved power supply across the country.
