SOCAR, ExxonMobil Review Energy Partnership at Baku Energy Week

The President of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic, SOCAR, Rovshan Najaf, held discussions with John Ardill, Vice President of ExxonMobil Corporation, on the sidelines of the ongoing Baku Energy Week.

The meeting focused on strengthening long-standing cooperation between both energy giants and exploring new areas of partnership within the global energy sector. Both sides reaffirmed the importance of their strategic relationship in advancing oil and gas development projects.

During the talks, attention was drawn to the successful collaboration on the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli (ACG) oil field, one of the most significant energy projects in the Caspian region.

Officials highlighted the commencement of first free natural gas production from the ACG block as a historic achievement, marking a new phase in the field’s development and reinforcing its importance to regional energy supply and cooperation.

Review of Ongoing Agreements and Future Cooperation

The two sides also reviewed progress under the Memorandum of Understanding signed between SOCAR and ExxonMobil last year. The discussions covered ongoing initiatives under the agreement and explored additional areas of mutual interest aimed at deepening technical, operational, and investment collaboration.

Both parties expressed commitment to sustaining dialogue and building on existing achievements to further enhance energy sector cooperation.
