  • MAN is seeking new partnerships with the refinery, calling it a game-changer for industrial growth and self-reliance.
  • Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf praised the exhibition as proof of Kano’s enduring role as a manufacturing hub.

The Kano-Jigawa branch of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria, MAN, has praised the Dangote Refinery and Petrochemicals for helping revive ailing companies by easing energy costs and ensuring steady access to petroleum products.

Speaking at the association’s Annual Products Exhibition in Kano, MAN’s branch chairman, Muhammad Bello Isyaku Umar, said cheaper diesel from the refinery has been critical for firms battling high operating expenses and erratic electricity supply. “These measures are already helping dying companies come back to life by reducing production costs, stabilising operations, and keeping jobs alive,” he told participants at the Sani Abacha Stadium venue.

Themed “Made in Nigeria: Revitalising Local Industries for Economic Growth”, this year’s event drew leading manufacturers, entrepreneurs, policymakers, and consumers in a show of resilience and innovation. Dangote Industries Limited was among the key sponsors, underscoring its influence across Nigeria’s industrial landscape.

Diesel Access Seen as Game-Changer

A statement from Dangote Group noted that affordable diesel is vital for small and medium-sized industries, particularly those beyond the national grid or in areas hit by frequent power outages. Umar added that the refinery’s intervention was not just lowering costs but also laying the foundation for stronger industrial competitiveness in the region.

MAN said it is exploring new areas of collaboration with the refinery to secure energy supply for manufacturers nationwide. Umar described Dangote Refinery as “a game-changer in Nigeria’s quest for industrial sustainability and self-reliance,” highlighting its potential to reduce reliance on imported fuels while boosting local production.

The association commended Dangote for its consistent support over the past five years, saying no MAN exhibition or trade fair is complete without the company’s products, which range from cement to sugar, salt, fertilizer, and consumer goods.
