Australian gas producers are pitching the Northern Territory as a home for AI data centres, saying developers can self-generate power and skip long grid-connection queues.

Gas will start flowing next month from Australia’s Beetaloo basin to Darwin, testing developers’ hopes of launching a US-style shale gas boom.
